Preschool Feast 2015

Preschool students at Mercy Montessori celebrated their annual Thanksgiving Feast on Friday, November 20th. In the weeks leading up to the event, all four primary classes spent time learning about the Pilgrims, Wampanoag Indians, and what it means to be thankful. In addition, they enjoyed a field trip to Imago Earth Center where they learned about Native American life and also prepared food in their classrooms including applesauce, butter, and corn muffins baked in the classroom oven.  On the day of the Thanksgiving Feast, students brought a favorite dish to share, dressed in Pilgrim and Native American costumes, and shared what they are thankful for. Students remarked that they were thankful for, “my family, “my dog,” “this food,” and “my classmate, Will.”

“The feast is an event that our students and staff look forward to every year,” remarked Preschool Directress, Yvonne Reissig. “Our students experience the spirit of Thanksgiving and share it with their friends and families outside of school.”
