History Day Success!

Mercy Montessori Junior High students had another successful run at National History Day this year!  On April 27th, through a virtual awards ceremony, two of Mercy's projects were given special recognition:

  • Claire G.- Honorable Mention for her website entitled, "Marie Curie: Defining Her World Through Science"
  • Kinsey B., Kennedy O., and Dana Z. - Third Place (National Alternate) for their performance entitled, "Victoria Woodhull: Breaking the Barriers of Society's Expectations"

Junior High teachers, Elizabeth Zerhusen and Lindsey Marck, wanted to acknowledge all of the National History Day participants for their hard work, especially to those who put in extra time to alter their projects for State! This includes Audrey, Deyonna, Kenya, Olivia, Reese v, Lex, Ben, Jack M, Will, Caroline, Max, Kinsey, Kennedy, Dana, Claire, and Drew. Great job, everyone!

Mercy Montessori has had a longstanding and very successful ‘history’ with National History Day!  Since 1983, Mercy junior high students have been participating in the program and earning national recognition.  Visit our History Day page to learn more.
