Mercy Donates Furniture to the Center for Respite Care

Students at Mercy Montessori voted last school year to donate our recycled caps to make a bench for the Center for Respite Care.  Seventh level students, Kinsey Bowling and Olivia Ellerman sort and organize caps every Friday.  Because of their tremendous volunteer effort, we asked them to accompany us to the Center for Respite Care to decide on a piece of furniture for the Center's patio space.  They decided on a bench with an armrest to add to the space.  We hope to deliver the bench soon after the holidays.  Thank you to everyone in our community for donating caps!!

The Center for Respite Care (the Center) is a 24-hour facility providing medical and nursing care to sick homeless people to promote effective healing.

Clients receive quality medical care and assistance in breaking the cycle of homelessness. Since opening in 2003, the Center has cared for over 1,700 sick and injured people who are homeless.
